Based in Sussex, Silver Stained Glass has a highly skilled team, many of which have more than 50 years of experience in the industry. Owner David is a stained glass specialist and passionate about what he does. As the business continues to grow, our team of stained glass installers have become specialists in restoring and repairing stained glass windows in churches as well as the many Victorian and Edwardian houses across Sussex. We’re also well-known for our custom design work and creating stunning bespoke pieces.

Who We Are

Owner David Warland started his career as a standard glazer, but appreciated the intricacy and detail of stained glass. 25 years ago, he took the leap from glazing into working with stained glass. During this time, he has worked with Opus Glass Design and has taught stained glass at Northbrook College.

The team has expanded to include Jason, Jason trained in London and had an art glass design and build company in the (Connecticut) USA for 16 years, a talented artist and stained glass designer, sculptor, and restorer who has 30 years expertise; Trev ‘the Lead’, who has 50 years of experience creating stained glass; Jon, who helps with carpentry needs and cementing as well as fitting and has 10 years experience; Les, our exceptionally talented glass painter with 50 years of expertise; and Lisa the office/shop manager and general organiser the glue that holds it all together!!!

Our Story

David set up Silver Stained Glass in 2017 when the old owners retired. He’d worked for Opus for 20 years and recently rebranded to Silver Stained Glass. The new store’s skilled team is highly experienced in all types of leaded lights and windows, commissioned pieces, repairs, painting, and silver staining.

Silver Stained Glass now offers a wide range of glasswork across Sussex. With high-quality craftsmanship, first-class service, and the only shop in Sussex where hobbyists, builders and glazers can buy tools and glass, lead and solder, the business of stained glass in Sussex is going from strength to strength.
